How long have you worked at Kerbey Lane Cafe?

1 1/2 years

What is your favorite thing about working at Kerbey Lane Cafe?

The staff. The family aspect and general culture behind the team inspires me to do the best I can. I appreciate everything they do for me.

Tell us a little about yourself; what motivates you as a volunteer?

The idea that I’m using my time to do something more meaningful than my every day activities motivates me.

What causes do you care most about?

I really care about spreading love and laughter, especially to children.

Which Kerbey Lane Cafe volunteer opportunity/event have you enjoyed the most? Why?

I loved the Thanksgiving dinner! Seeing all the smiles and appreciation from the people coming in made me very happy.

What is your favorite KLC pancake?

The S’more pancake is the best!

If you could have one super power, what would it be? How would you use it?

Flight, because I already have super strength 😜 , which I would totally use it to rebuild cities damaged by natural disasters.

What is your spirit animal? Why?

The wolf. I often feel like a lone wolf, but when necessary, I have the strength to lead a pack.

What is your favorite thing about working at Kerbey Lane Cafe?

The camaraderie and team building that is focused on from day one. It really becomes apparent in this job that it is impossible without good backup.

Tell us about one of your most memorable service moments at Kerbey Lane Cafe.

When a customer who wasn't in my section stopped me to compliment me on my work ethic and gave me a twenty.

Tell us a little about yourself and what motivates you to give great service to guests.

I'm a native Austinite who has been eating at Kerbey since I was two years old. So, having this job is almost a dream come true. I have spent time as a canvasser for the environment. It really taught me the value of people and good service.

Are there any skills you use as a team member at Kerbey that come in handy during everyday life?

Don't talk to people. Rather, talk with people. It is an extremely handy skill in everyday life. I'm working on it myself.

What is your favorite KLC pancake?

Lemon Poppy

If you could have one super power, what would it be? How would you use it?

Teleportation, so I could go to work and everywhere else without wasting time.

What is your spirit animal and why?

Golden Retriever. I just want to be your friend.
