July Service Stars

Each month Kerbey Lane Cafe honors two Service Stars. These are team members who exemplify the KLC core values, who lend an extra helping hand, and who are all ‘round awesome people. They are certainly worthy of a spot on our blog. Check them out!

I feel like it’s a huge family–a second home.

Tell us a little about yourself and what motivates you as a volunteer.

I really enjoy helping people and trying new things. If I can learn something new and give back to the community, it’s a win-win.

I want to be a teacher eventually, so I enjoy working with children–I especially enjoy helping the underprivileged.

I really enjoyed working with Urban Roots and learning about gardening.

A puppy, maybe a poodle. Because I’m really silly and friendly.

How long have you worked at Kerbey Lane Cafe?

6 months.

What is your favorite thing about working at Kerbey Lane Cafe?

There is a lot of variety in my position. As an expo, I get to participate in what’s going on the kitchen and experience all aspects of what it takes to run a smooth service. I enjoy organizing and pay attention to details, and being an expo definitely requires that.

Tell us a little about yourself and what motivates you to give great service to guests.

Receiving good service is what motivates me to give good service. Providing a great overall experience requires efficiency, accuracy of orders and timing, and organization.

Are there any skills you use as a team member here at Kerbey that come in handy during everyday life?

Time management. The ability to time orders and prioritize tasks is key.

What’s your favorite pancake flavor?

Banana Nut.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

The ability to time travel. It would be comforting to know what is going to happen so that I could plan ahead in order to be prepared for any situation.

Congratulations to our July Service Stars!
